19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time coach his previous coach.

Now working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after March of the previous year.

Victory also means he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.

His counter-punching play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his ability to compete at the top level was over.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced service.

The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, took control to create a final set.

He defended four initial opportunities in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
