A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
